Ramón Marcos

I am a multidisciplinary artist specialized in inclusive and community contemporary dance who works as an interpreter, creator and independent teacher, as well as a researcher thanks to having graduated as a Doctor of Education in 2020 from the Autonomous University of Madrid with the outstanding grade Cum Laude for my research " Teacher training for the professionalization of dance in contexts of diversity in Spain"

Since 2021, I have decided to start flying independently, being invited to numerous festivals as a speaker to expose my two main lines of research: the deconstruction of ableism in dance and the scenic transformation of dance thanks to artists with disabilities from the XX century, in addition to directing my own project "We are on time" to start its first steps in June 2022.

Biographie

He began his dance training at the age of nine at the Professional Dance Conservatory of Albacete, his hometown, where he studied Spanish dance, classical dance and contemporary dance. At the age of eighteen, he moved to Madrid to study "Pedagogy of Visual Arts and Dance" at the Rey Juan Carlos University of Madrid dancing in parallel in the Chamber Ballet of Madrid from 2010 until 2014 when he get in contact with inclusive dance thanks to an educational project at the Joan Miró Special Education center, deciding to continue his journey in the search for new dance languages and methodologies accessible to all, starting his Master's studies "Attention to diversity and educational support" at the University of Alcalá de Henares of Madrid and expanded his artistic training in contemporary dance and theater in different training programs in Madrid. In 2015, he was selected to enter the inclusive professional company FRITSCH COMPANY of the Maite León Psycho Ballet Foundation (FPBML) for as a dancer for the show "Mesa para Tr3s” and in 2016, he began to work as a teacher specialized in inclusivedance at the FPBML for both students  of this institution as in external projects, giving workshops in cultural institutions of reference throughout Spain, in addition to continuing to work as an interpreter in FRITSCH COMPANY on national and international tours.

In 2016, he suffered a personal existential crisis that led him to create with Adrián López the piece "BÚNKER" in which the personal and social oppression suffered by the  two performers was reflected, premiering at the IV International Contest of Contemporary Dance Beta Publica and he decided to moved in Paris in order to discover new personal and artistic universes, after enrolling in the Doctorate program in Education at the Autonomous University of Madrid, working in different contemporary companies such as ALL MOOV as performer and choreographer, in addition to working internationally on the Erasmus + SHIFT project with Northern Ballet (United Kingdom) and Misiconi Dance Company (Netherlands) and in 2020, the world seems to stop and, at that moment, he decides to focus all his energy to finish his doctoral research and in November of that year he presented it, obtaining the Outstanding Laude grade and taking advantage of the opportunities of virtuality to continue his training different training programs and seminars  related to art and diversity such as the seminar  "From the incursion to the interpellation: scene, disability and politics" organized by the British Council and UNAM Theater (Mexico) or the diploma "Strategic thinking for the management and incidence of dance in today's society" of the University of Bogotá Jorge Tadeo Lozano (Colombia).

From 2021, he begins him path in a totally independent way and begins to collaborate and participate with institutions and people that respect its human and artistic values that seek to deconstruct the stipulated artistic conceptions and to be able to find new scenic languages that allow to build a more just and equitable society through culture,  being invited as a speaker at the national level at the XIII Conference on Social Inclusion and Education of the Performing Arts and Music with his communication "Deconstructing ableism in dance" (Bilbao, 2021) and international in the IV meeting of creation in performing arts ENCAE "Community and dance: reflections from conceptual history" (Colombia) and,  in 2022, he has been invited by the ProTeatr International Festival to create a show under the premises of identity and inclusion in Moscow entitled "Alma mía", to the project Creando por Soria for the inclusive show "Caminos" and in June 2021 he will direct the first inclusive art project in Albacete "We are on time"  in which actions will be developed to promote the culture of inclusive dance in Castilla La Mancha through a training program for trainers and a scenic creation
